“Nobody can define what exactly true love is. Some believe in it and many others don't. If somebody tries to define it, there will be many agreements and disagreements. Especially since nowadays marriages don't even last long anymore which encourages many to stay single. Faith and understanding in relationships is what many lack because it seems we've forgotten nothing and no one is perfect.”
-Jonathan Anthony Burkett
I've been thinking a lot recently about the true meaning of love?
It is possible that you may be feeling a lot of strong emotions for somebody, but you are unsure if it is love or something else completely different or maybe it’s sympathy?
Sometimes we misunderstand the Meaning of Love. It is very easy to believe that you are in love when in fact you were just meant to be friends. You probably enjoy their company very much, but deep down you really know that the special feeling is not there between both of you.
Can you define love? The definition of love is vague and yet, so simple. All of us fall in love, but how many of us understand the true meaning of love?
Some say that love can be best described as a very strong feeling that is deep down in the pit of your stomach. You experience this feeling when you are around that special somebody or when you happen to be thinking about them. These strong feelings can be of affection, attraction and enjoyment. In a way, it is kind of like all three of these feelings rolled up into one super emotion. Many people feel extremely wonderful when they experience this.
Love is a phenomenon that has ‘n’ number of interpretations (Mind you, here ‘n’ tends to infinity). Nobody can define what exactly love is. The meaning of love can’t really be explained, it has to be experienced.
I wonder if it's the feeling that makes me want to jump out with joy? Or is it that touch that makes me want to skip across the clouds? I wonder if it is love when I feel happy to see his face, or is it love when I embrace hos passionately?
I found myself contemplating about love, and what I felt. I heard a lot of scientific bollocks saying that love is a neural blah and some more blah… and another thousand pages of more scientific blah! But then, I really think that love is something that is more than just science, it’s a reason that makes us believe that there is something beyond our control.
Love is a religion that you really begin to believe in. Love is something that just can’t be explained in a thousand journals, but it can bring tears of joy in your eyes when you read a letter of a hundred words from your lover. Strange, isn’t it?
Love has a serious influence over people, one which is too often taken for granted. Love has horrid consequences if you do not respect it for what it is to others. Love is not always what you think it is, or what you think it should be. Love can take many different forms, and can even be deceptive. Love can be healing, or it can be devastating. Love is ecstasy and torment. Love gives you strength, but can make you weak. Love can be freeing, or enslave us under its power.
Once you understand the Meaning of Love then you can truly harness its power. This is when you will be ready to get the most out of life and be ready to receive everything great that is coming your way. When you truly love another person then you will feel things that only a handful of people on this planet ever experience. Isn’t that a great thought? When it really comes down to it, the Meaning of Love can mean different things to different people. We all have unique romantic situations and you must work on doing what is best for you. And seriously, take heed to what I said before…you must first learn to love yourself. That is the key.
Remember, life is what you make of it and if you make it good then you will get the most out of your time here.
One thing about love is for certain, once you find it you never want to lose it. Love is everywhere and in many different forms all around us. Love permeates our thoughts, fills our dreams, and effects our actions. Even though love permeates the world around us, it is still so hard to assign a definitive value. Of course, love is different for everyone, and this is part of what makes defining love so difficult. No one can tell you what love is to you, that is something you have to find for yourself. I think love is something you define through your own desires, and express through your own experiences. Love is unique to each person, and sometimes those values are incompatible. In the end, love is what you make of it.
